Debbie Whittaker is the founder of Coolcumba Communications. Debbie qualified with a Bachelor of Physical Education and Mathematics 11 Major from Wits University in 1992. She has worked and gained experience in the following fields: teaching, project management, change management consulting and business process re-engineering, Internet consulting, market research, marketing strategy, advertising, Public Relations and event management.
Debbie began her career in 1993 as a mathematics teacher at Bryanston High School where she taught for three years. In 1995 she joined The Centre for Proactive Marketing (now Synovate) where she conducted market research surveys and developed Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) research reports for Delta Motor Corporation. In 1996 Debbie was employed by REL Consulting as a change management consultant. Here she worked on query management reporting and business process re-engineering for the Credit Control Department at SA Breweries and Afrox. Debbie’s experience in the ICT sector started in 1997 when she was employed at BMI-TechKnowledge Group as an Internet analyst and was later promoted to BMI-T’s marketing and communications manager. In 2000 she was approached by Digital Planet, one of SA’s first online IT retailers, to head up its marketing division and to grow its community of permission-based users.
In January 2001 Debbie started Coolcumba Communications. The company has since grown from strength-to-strength and successfully implemented numerous marketing campaigns and events over the past 18 years.

Tsholo Molefe joined Coolcumba Communications in January 2015 as events coordinator.
Tsholo studied Office Administration at Varsity College in 2013. She has gained work experience in the events industry working as a hostess, assisting various companies as a freelance events assistant.
Tsholo brings fresh energy and a warm smile to our team.

Niki Lelaka joined Coolcumba Communications in January 2017.
Niki completed her studies in Call Centre Management at the Corner Stone Institute in 2007.
In 2008 she was employed by Magnetic Event Management in data capture. She then joined Bayport Financial Services as a call centre agent, where she gained work experience in customer service and sales.
In 2010 Niki was approached by one of the Busby companies as an assistant manager, and then went onto work for Herbert Evans Art Makers.
Niki brings extensive knowledge and experience as a call centre agent to our team, as well as her energy, passion and zest for life.
